"I decided on a Surveying career at an early age, starting a course at the College of Estate Management, Reading University straight after school. I graduated from Reading with an Honours Degree in 1979 and I immediately started work at Surrey County Council Valuation and Estates Department, which was an ideal opportunity to gain a varied experience of Surveying issues for a huge variety of properties. This period of time also allowed me to gain my Test of Professional Competence and become an Associate Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
I left the Council in 1982 to join Mann & Co Surveyors. In a very short time I was running my own office at Walton -upon -Thames and then Staines. I rose to Director of Mann & Co Surveyors in 1985 but decided to leave in 1987 to fulfill a lifelong ambition of building my own firm of Surveyors.
I was elected a Fellow of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2000.
The Surveying industry and my practice has changed dramatically over the years. However, my decision in 1979 must have been sound as I still enjoy Surveying and Valuing as much as I did when I first started.
Over the years I have gained extensive experience of Surveying and Valuing all types of Buildings for a variety of Clients and purposes."
